The Gerson Private Catholic School was founded in
1884 by Father Dibildos. The chapel was built in
1895 by architects Claude Salleron and Eugene
Homberg, in addition to the school built the
previous year. The stained glass windows, made by
Félix Gaudin, were donated by students at the very
end of the 19th century.

The organ was built in 1892 by E. and J. Abbey in an oak
sideboard embedded in a niche.
In 1953, the instrument was transformed into the neo-
classical style. A small overhaul was done by Barberis in 1980.
The organ was restored by Olivier Chevron in 2018-2019. The
instrument had never been fully overhauled since it was
installed in 1895 in the newly completed chapel. It is not
known if the organ had a short life in another place before.
The composition of the instrument has been modified to
restore it to a state close to its original composition. The
instrument that had been transformed into an "organ to play
everything" in the 1950s (by an unknown builder) has moved
closer to its original romantic spirit.
Thus, the modifications of 1953 were removed: the Plein jeu
and the Tierce were removed and the Doublette was
replaced by a new Doublette more in relation to the spirit of
the instrument.
A Flûte Harmonique on the great organ and a Voix Céleste to
the swell were added as a replacement.
Finally, the console and the buffet were advanced by about
twenty centimeters to improve the sound of the instrument
in the chapel and facilitatefuture restorations.
