Deuxième Eglise

du Christ Scientiste

58, boulevard Flaudrin, 75016 Paris
E7 The organ was installed by Alexandre Père & Fils in 1942 as a study organ at the Fortin Studio, located 4 rue Chapal. When the studio closed, it was bought by the Church of Christ Scientiste and installed in 1960 by Edmond Costa (Lodève). The maintenance was then carried out by Picaud and Barbéris. It is probably an instrument of Gutschenritter, sold under the name Alexandre. The stop pullers have probably been changed by Costa, they are typical of those used by Gonzalez in the more recent period (it’s Laukhuff material). Thanks to Eric Lebrun for this information.
The building was built in 1922. Long after the introduction of Christian Science in France in 1896, a small group of Christian Scientists founded in October 1920, the Christian Science Society which was to become Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Paris. In July 1926, the building at 58 boulevard Flandrin, which had originally been built to house the collections of an art lover, was rented. In June 1929 the deed of sale was signed; the dedication of the church took place on May 24, 1931.
